Youtube is a great place for makeup lovers like us. It's full of makeup enthusiasts who share their latest makeup tips and beloved products. It's the place we resort to when we  are searching for new makeup looks, or simply to spend some time. Here are some of my favourite beauty vloggers:


O YouTube é um excelente sítio para amantes de maquilhagem como nós. Está cheio de entusiastas que partilham as suas dicas e produtos favoritos. É normalmente o sítio a que recorro quando estou à procura de um novo makeup look, ou simplesmente para passar o tempo. Aqui estão algumas das minhas beauty vloggers preferidas:




Lisa Eldridge is one of the only persons in the YouTube community that rightfully deserves the frequently misused term 'beauty guru'. She is a professional makeup artist that has been in field for years and has worked with numerous celebrities (Kate Winslet, Lily Allen, Clemence Poesy, just to name a few), so it truly is a privilege to be able to learn so much from her. She's very kind and selfless to share her knowledge with the online community. I have bought a few makeup products based on her recommendations and I can honestly say that I have never regretted a single purchase and they always end up becoming beauty staples of mine. Lisa has such charming personality, it is a pleasure to watch her!


A Lisa Eldridge é das únicas pessoas no YouTube que merece o frequentemente mal aplicado termo "guru de beleza" (beauty guru). Ela é uma maquilhadora profissional que trabalha no ramo há vários anos e que trabalhou com imensas celebridades (tais como Kate Winslet, Lily Allen, Clemence Poesy, etc.), por isso é um verdadeiro privilégio ter a possibilidade de aprender tanto com ela. Lisa Eldridge é extremamente generosa para ter a motivação de dedicar tanto tempo à comunidade online e partilhar os seus conhecimentos. Já comprei alguns produtos de beleza com base nas recomendações que fez e nunca me arrependi de nenhum. Tornaram-se, pelo contrário, essenciais no meu kit, dos quais não abdquirarei durante um bom tempo. Tem uma personalidade muito afável, é um prazer ver os vídeos dela!

Essiebutton is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining of all of the YT beauty vloggers. She is hilarious and has some great tips and product reviews. She can make me believe my life is not complete without her latest product obsession!

A Essiebutton é, sem dúvida uma das beauty vloggers mais divertidas no YouTube. Os vídeos são hilariantes e tem imensas dicas excelentes e críticas de produtos. Ela consegue-me fazer acreditar que a minha vida não está completa sem a sua última obsessão de maquilhagem!

Fleurdeforce is the most down-to-earth and unassuming. Most YouTube vloggers usually put on a 'persona' when recording their videos, but with Fleur you can tell she is just being herself and that she makes videos because she actually enjoys the whole process.

A Fleurdeforce é a mais descontraída e menos presunçosa. A maioria das beauty vloggers constrói uma "personagem" quando filma os seus vídeos, mas a Fleur limita-se a ser ela própria, e é notório que gosta do que faz.

Meejmuse is a less well-known beauty vlogger, albeit still amazing. I really like her tutorials, which are always pretty straightforward and easy to recreate. 

A Meejmuse é uma vlogger menos conhecida, mas, ainda assim, excelente. Adoro os tutorials que faz, que são sempre bastante claros e fáceis de recriar.

Petiscostv is a brazilian beauty vlogger, so for those who don't speak portuguese, you may not enjoy her videos as much. She has a great humor, I just crack up when watching her stuff. Her videos are extremely helpful!

A Petiscostv é uma vlogger brasileira. Penso que é bem famosa no Brasil. Os vídeos dela são de partir a rir, mas extremamente úteis!

 JessicaBeautician is an english beauty vlogger who, as the name suggests, is studying to become a beautician. I love the looks she creates, which are always very subtle, in the style of a 'no makeup makeup look'.

A JessicaBeautician é uma vlogger inglesa que está a estudar maquilhagem e cosmética. Adoro os looks que ela faz, sempre muito subtis, ao estilo do "no makeup makeup look".

TheMakeupQuack is a very sweet vlogger, with great recommendations, especially for those, who, like me, have very pale skin.

TheMakeupQuack é uma vlogger adorável, com excelentes recomendações de produtos, especialmente para quem, como eu, tem pele muito clara.

ShirleyBeniang has great product reviews and beauty tips. I especially enjoy her 'finance tips' video, where she shares how she saves up money to buy what she wants and what she needs and how to make good financial choices. 


A ShirleyBeniang tem excelente críticas de produtos e dicas de beleza. Gosto especialmente do vídeo onde partilha algumas dicas para poupar dinheiro e assim poder comprar o que quer e o que precisa, bem como alguns conselhos sobre como fazer boas escolhas a nível financeiro.

My latest subscription is ICovetThee. She's an english beauty vlogger with a great eye for fashion and design. She also has a really pretty blog. You can check it out here.

On my last trip to ZARA I found this little gem waiting for me in the counter display. I tried it just for fun and was amazed to find out this perfume smells EXACTLY like J'adore from Dior!!! I kid you not! And, of course, here comes the part that blew me away: it costs only €5.95! So, in a time of financial crisis, why not embrace the cheap and chic philosophy and save some euros on this one? ;) It comes in a minimalist bottle that's perfect to carry around in your bag for a midday little sprinkle, even though the staying power of this little beauty is remarkable.

Na minha última ida à ZARA encontrei este pequeno tesouro, que me esperava no balcão. Experimentei-o por curiosidade e fiquei abismada ao descobrir que ele cheira EXACTAMENTE igual ao J'adore da Dior!!! Não estou a brincar! E, claro, aqui vem a parte que me deixou de boca aberta: custa apenas €5.95! Por isso, num tempo de crise financeira, porque não adoptar a filosofia cheap and chic e poupar uns euros neste? ;) O perfume vem num frasco minimalista que é perfeito para trazer na mala para uma borrifadela a meio do dia, embora ele dure imenso tempo na pele!

Rumour has it (ask Mr. Google) this is the only nail polish to touch Her Majesty, The Queen of England's nails. And even though it's also known which nail polish Kate Middleton wore on her wedding (to be precise, nail polishes, one from Essie and the other is Bourjois), if we're going to start wearing royal nail polishes, we might as well start with the Queen's.
Ballet Slippers is the palest nude-rose that you can imagine, or even a pinkish white-nude. It's not opaque, but with a couple of coats you can easily achieve that finish. I was just expecting a translucent Essie that the Queen of England also used, but I actually really liked it. I'm very impressed.

Dizem por aí (perguntem ao Sr. Google) que é o único verniz que toca as unhas da Sua Majestade a Rainha de Inglaterra. E, embora também seja público o verniz que Kate Middleton usou no seu casamento (ou vernizes, já que consta que foram dois, um da Essie e outro Bourjois), se é para começar a experimentar vernizes reais, que se comece pela Rainha.

O verniz é o rosa-nude mais pálido que conseguirem imaginar, ou o branco-nude mais rosa. Não é opaco, mas com várias camadas o resultado facilmente se aproximará disso. Estava à espera de um Essie transparente que a Rainha de Inglaterra também usava, afinal gostei. Muito impressionada.

The perfect travel makeup bag! | O necessaire de viagem perfeito

I had been on the search for the perfect travel wash bag for quite a while now and I've finally settled on this lovely one from Muji! It looks really small but it fits A LOT of stuff! It keeps things perfectly organized inside, with smart dividers and compartments. I sincerely think I've found the perfect cosmetics case.

Já andava à procura de um necessaire de viagem ideal e finalmente encontrei-o na Muji do Chiado! O tamanho é perfeito: parece muito pequeno e não ocupa muito espaço na mala, mas cabe imensa coisa lá dentro!  Tem bastantes compartimentos e elásticos para manter tudo organizado, é mesmo o necessaire perfeito, não podia estar mais contente com a compra.
